Richmond has long been dubbed the New Chinatown where people from around the Lower Mainland, visitors driving up from Seattle over a long weekend, and tourists come for an authenic culinary experience - savoring dishes just like how it is done on the other side of the Pacific. Richmond has one of the highest concentrations of restaurants per capita in North America, and is the destination for the most authentic Chinese cuisine on the continent. Some argue that Asian cuisine in Richmond rivals that of restaurants in Asia.
Come join the Richmond Foodie Tour and spend an afternoon tasting an array of authentic Asian cuisines and meeting some new foodie friends. You will be introduced to the "Food Street", tasting award winning dim sum, Grandpa's smoked chicken, Taiwanese passion fruit bubble tea, succulent Taiwanese chicken nuggets, AAA+ Korean short ribs, seafood pizza, and sashimi flown in from the famous Japanese Tsukiji fish market, boneless chicken wings stuffed with cheese and spinach just to name a few. You will be sampling signature dishes, rubbing shoulders with restaurant owners or managers and getting the inside scoop on the business. You will learn why foodies rave about the restaurant and what makes each place stand head and shoulders above its competition.
We will visit 4-6 restaurants and spend 15-20 minutes at each place. Restaurants are subject to change, however, my goal is to introduce you to some of the most authentic and sought after restaurants in the area, and most will agree after coming on a tour with me, that I do indeed have fine taste!
A unique (optional) component to the Richmond Foodie Tour will be a 30-minute traditional Chinese shoulder and foot massage at the end of the tour. Space is limited, subject to availability.
